Casey – Bikram Yoga

That’s how long it took for me to understand the power of Bikram Yoga — and, truthfully, becoming a yoga teacher wasn’t even on my radar back then. It all started with a leap of faith: my partner, Jeanne, followed her dream and bought a studio. The next thing I knew, I was on a plane to teacher training, with no idea that this decision would completely change the way I think about health, movement, and well-being.

Today, I find myself blending everything I’ve ever learned — from my degree in Engineering to a career in consultancy, to writing a novel — into one unique passion: helping others transform their bodies and minds. I run a learn-to-swim school with a twist, using techniques inspired by my decade of teaching yoga. And whenever I can, I return to my roots at Bikram Yoga Sunshine Coast to teach classes and share what I’ve learned with others.

But the real magic happened at home, with my three sport-mad sons. Watching them go through the aches, pains, and injuries of growing bodies made me realize just how powerful yoga can be beyond the mat. Between basketball and soccer, there were sore knees, tight muscles, and niggles that could have turned into long-term issues — if not for a few simple yoga postures. It’s amazing what a little breathwork and mindful movement can do to prevent pain and support recovery.

What’s even more exciting is seeing how quickly this knowledge spreads. My sons now help their friends and teammates. My eldest son’s basketball coach, who had resigned himself to sore knees for life, is shocked at how much better he feels — and it’s all from a handful of stretches and breathing techniques.

This is what keeps me teaching, year after year: the spark of empowerment when a student realizes that they hold the key to their own health and healing. Yoga taught me that. And I’ll never stop sharing it.

But that’s exactly what happened. I took my first Bikram Yoga class over 20 years ago. By the end of it, I was dripping in sweat, exhausted… and hooked. I signed up for a 30-day challenge right then and there — and made it all the way through.

In just one month, everything felt different. My body was stronger, my jeans fit better, and I even felt taller. I made new friends, landed a new job, and most unexpectedly, met the man I would marry. I felt amazing.

And then… I stopped.

Like so many others, I told myself I didn’t need the yoga anymore. I was too busy with life, work, and relationships. But without it, the aches and pains from years of running, training, and playing hockey crept back in. My knees hurt. My hips ached. And as I got older, the injuries became harder to shake.

Over time, I developed a love/hate relationship with Bikram Yoga. I made every excuse not to go back. It was too hard. Too hot. Too confronting. But every time I did return to the hot room, I was reminded of one simple truth: everything in life felt easier when I was practising consistently.

That’s the magic of Bikram Yoga. You start for the physical benefits — the strength, the flexibility, the relief from aches and pains. But over time, you realize the biggest changes aren’t physical at all. Your mind feels clearer. You start handling life’s challenges with more ease. Relationships improve. Problems you’ve been agonizing over suddenly have solutions.

I’ve seen it happen time and time again — not just in myself, but in my students. They walk into the hot room looking for a workout and leave transformed in ways they never expected. Their stories still inspire me, even after all these years.

So if you’ve been putting off your first class or avoiding the hot room for a while, let me remind you of one thing:

“It never doesn’t work.”

Now is the time to show up for yourself. You won’t regret it.

Robyn – Inferno Hot Pilates

Growing up in Melbourne’s fitness boom, I was surrounded by energy, music, and movement. By 18, I was a gym junkie, cracking jokes about being the next Jane Fonda! Over the last 35 years, I’ve built a career in health and fitness, collecting countless qualifications and helping people discover how good they can feel — mentally and physically — through movement.

When I found Pilates, it was a game-changer. I had a shoulder injury, and through the Authentic Pilates Method, I fully rehabilitated it. But it was more than just recovery — I connected with the philosophy behind it. That mind-body connection? It’s real. And it changes the way people move, think, and live.

In 2021, I moved to the Sunshine Coast and rediscovered Bikram Yoga with Belle. That’s where I found Inferno Pilates — and it reignited my passion. I completed my Level 1 training in 2022, and I’ve never looked back.

Inferno Pilates is empowering, challenging, and fun. Whether it’s on the mat or in one of my Aqua Aerobics classes, my goal is simple: to create a space where you feel happy, safe, and confident. With great music and good vibes, we’ll work together to push limits and celebrate your progress.

So join me — let’s make every session a step toward feeling stronger, happier, and more empowered. And when you leave class, I hope you’ll already be looking forward to the next time you hit the mat!

Baillie – Yin Yoga

That’s why I’m so passionate about sharing this practice with others. Yoga is more than just movement; it’s a way to reconnect with yourself and tune into the subtle sensations within your body.

So far, I’ve completed over 450 hours of training across various styles — Ashtanga, Hatha, Functional Yin, and the Undoing Asana method. But for me, teaching isn’t about certificates or techniques. It’s about spreading kindness and helping students feel more present, more connected, and more empowered in their own bodies.

Join me on the mat, and let’s explore what yoga can do for you.

Tanya – Bikram Yoga

This question has shaped my journey, and it all started with Bikram Yoga. After returning home from Bikram Yoga Teacher Training at Sapphire Coast, a dear friend said to me, “Tanya, I just love how you run straight towards the things that scare you!” Her words struck me deeply — they perfectly captured how much this practice has changed my life.

When I first stepped onto the mat, I was anxious. The heat, the intensity, the relentless challenge of facing myself — it was overwhelming. There were days I didn’t want to show up. Yet I did. Again and again, I showed up. Through every wobble, sweat-soaked moment, and mental battle, I leaned into the wisdom of my teachers and the support of my fellow yogis. Slowly, my mind, body, and spirit began to transform.

Bikram Yoga helped me face challenges far beyond the studio, including my greatest fear: public speaking. For years, I avoided it, believing it was simply beyond me. But this practice taught me that my limitations are only temporary — and that if I could endure the heat of the room, I could handle the heat of life.

Attending Teacher Training at Sapphire Coast with Amrei Marden and Dev Kapil was a long-held dream I never thought possible. But when I decided to stop running from fear and instead run towards it, everything changed. It was one of the best decisions of my life.

Now, I’m thrilled to return to my yoga community as a Bikram Yoga Teacher — to give back to the very people who inspired and supported me through every step of my journey.

From my very first class, I knew this practice was for me. And now, teaching it feels like the most natural next step. As I’ve heard time and again, “Bikram works!” I’m living proof of that truth.

I look forward to seeing you on your mat soon, ready to face your own challenges — and maybe even discover the transformation waiting on the other side of your fears.

Belen – Bikram Yoga | Inferno Hot Pilates

Years of chasing success in the corporate world left me exhausted, stressed, and physically worn down. I turned to Bikram Yoga as a last resort to manage my stress — but what I discovered went far beyond what I expected.

At first, it helped me recover from burnout and nagging injuries. But over time, this practice did something even more powerful: it reconnected me to my inner energy. It made me more optimistic, more balanced, and more in tune with myself — qualities I now love helping others discover within themselves.

Join me in class, and let’s unlock the best version of you.

Wanda – Bikram Yoga

It was one of the hardest things I’d ever done. I left drenched in sweat, exhausted… but something inside me had shifted. Over the years, that practice has been my healer. It’s helped me recover from physical injuries, quiet my mind, and work through emotional pain I didn’t even realize I was carrying.

The truth is, “if it doesn’t challenge you, it won’t change you.” And Bikram Yoga challenges you in ways that go beyond the physical. The more you practice, the more you strengthen the mind-body connection — unlocking self-awareness that changes how you move, eat, and respond to life’s challenges.

As Bikram Choudhury says, “You’re never too old, you’re never too sick.”
All you have to do is show up, trust the process, and let the healing begin.

Wendy -Bikram Yoga

I stepped into that hot room in 2017 and barely made it through. But something about the challenge hooked me. Six months later, I knew I had to learn more. This yoga wasn’t just about the body — it was about the mind, heart, and spirit. It was the real deal.

Fast forward six years, and now I’m the one teaching classes. And still, Bikram Yoga continues to transform my life in ways I never imagined. It challenges every part of you — physically, mentally, emotionally. It teaches you patience, strength, focus, and compassion. It makes you unravel, reflect, and grow.

The changes can be subtle at first, but they’re powerful. This practice has a way of making you ask, Who am I? and What really matters?

And the best part? It’s for everyone. Show up, trust the process, and watch your life change. It really is that good.
