This question has shaped my journey, and it all started with Bikram Yoga. After returning home from Bikram Yoga Teacher Training at Sapphire Coast, a dear friend said to me, “Tanya, I just love how you run straight towards the things that scare you!” Her words struck me deeply — they perfectly captured how much this practice has changed my life.
When I first stepped onto the mat, I was anxious. The heat, the intensity, the relentless challenge of facing myself — it was overwhelming. There were days I didn’t want to show up. Yet I did. Again and again, I showed up. Through every wobble, sweat-soaked moment, and mental battle, I leaned into the wisdom of my teachers and the support of my fellow yogis. Slowly, my mind, body, and spirit began to transform.
Bikram Yoga helped me face challenges far beyond the studio, including my greatest fear: public speaking. For years, I avoided it, believing it was simply beyond me. But this practice taught me that my limitations are only temporary — and that if I could endure the heat of the room, I could handle the heat of life.
Attending Teacher Training at Sapphire Coast with Amrei Marden and Dev Kapil was a long-held dream I never thought possible. But when I decided to stop running from fear and instead run towards it, everything changed. It was one of the best decisions of my life.
Now, I’m thrilled to return to my yoga community as a Bikram Yoga Teacher — to give back to the very people who inspired and supported me through every step of my journey.
From my very first class, I knew this practice was for me. And now, teaching it feels like the most natural next step. As I’ve heard time and again, “Bikram works!” I’m living proof of that truth.
I look forward to seeing you on your mat soon, ready to face your own challenges — and maybe even discover the transformation waiting on the other side of your fears.
